Valle de Bravo is widely known for its artificial lake, which is part of the Miguel Aleman hydroelectric system and is ideal for practicing water sports or enjoying boat or yacht rides. The Avandaro River forms its flow from the rains of all that wooded region.

Built in 1947, the dam is part of the Valle de Bravo basin, designed to collect and regulate the water from the Avandaro River, which gives its name to a neighboring town, no less beautiful.


In order not to settle for just looking at it but to experience the force of the lake's waters, El Santuario has:

-Boat drawers on the dock

-Covered area on the dock

-Dressing rooms with showers, Jacuzzi, steam, and lockers

NAUTICAL CLUB

The Marina and the Nautical Club have been built in total harmony with the lake and the valley.

It is a space of freedom that allows us to open our perception to the vastness and powers of Nature. Meeting place of forest and lake, the visitor can also enter mainland adventures.

All its spaces have been planned for the full development of coexistence and family integration: living rooms bathed in light, healthy gardens, a 25-meter pool, two jacuzzis, and large terraces with plant life and specialized equipment, and total security. All services are top-notch.



RIDING CLUB


There is no country setting without horses. El Santuario has 23 rustic stables, made of adobe and wood, with sprinkler systems (for the eradication of flies) and all the essential elements in a premium quality equestrian club: paddock, two warm-up paddocks, and three tracks: a garden with fixed obstacles; another of sand with obstacles and, the third, with a large area of ​​grass.

The surprising natural settings of Valle de Bravo are perfect for all kinds of adventure activities, some of them extreme, that only the bravest dare to practice.


Among these activities are: paragliding trips, 4x motorcycle tours, navigating the lake by boat, yacht or sailboat, canoeing, cycling, rappelling, hiking and horseback riding, among others.

In the neighborhood of Santa Maria Ahuacatlan, visit the sixteenth century Parish of San Francisco de Asis, and the Chapel of Santa Maria, which houses the Black Christ statue, considered miraculous.

The Archaeological Museum exhibits many pre-Hispanic pieces from the area of Teotihuacán, Tlalpizáhuac, Malinalco, and Calixtlahuaca.

Four blocks from the Main Square, visit the Artisan Market, where you can buy textiles, ceramic, clay, or wrought iron objects made by artisans.

The Velo de Novia waterfall is just half an hour from El Santuario. This beautiful 35-meter waterfall is surrounded by a thick green forest where you can practice mountain biking and hiking. Ten minutes away is the Rio del Molino waterfall, ideal for spending the day. 


The Monarch butterfly natural reserve protects this butterfly and its extraordinary migratory process. This natural spectacle can only be enjoyed from November to March.
